Profile Information

what does "radical unschooling" mean to you?
I am still taking in this approach and learning all I can about it. I find that my mindset is already changing and is giving me the freedom to enjoy my children's company instead of trying to force them to 'sit and learn'.
So far, it means freedom. True freedom. And that feels really good!
how long have you been unschooling or homeschooling?
Starting our second year.

a little about me
I'm a remarried mom, living in Calgary,AB.

At this point only my son is unschooled. My second daughter is in a blended program and my oldest daughter is still in public school. She loves school, and is very happy so I'm torn about whether to take her out as she is in grade 8 and has so much schooling already. I worry that the transition might be more traumatic than it's worth, and she's been through so much in her life already. I am openly talking to her about it as an option though and she is starting to show interest. Ultimately I would like to see all my kids at home...or out exploring! :)
