It says 1894 on the Amazon page: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1436561043/ncp-20 I hope my books are still being published 100 years from now! Pestalozzi only lived until 1827, so 1801 does make more sense. Google Books scanned a second...

I'd love to hear what you're thinking of Ashland is, so far. It's at the top of our list of places we might choose for our new home. :-) Lots of love to you, Wendi XOXOXO

I did forget two more lists:

http://it.groups.yahoo.com/group/concettodelcontinuum/?yguid=286713246
http://it.groups.yahoo.com/group/genitoriconsapevoli/?yguid=286713246

these are basically the same people...the second is smaller and is for those of us working on the "non togliermi il sorriso" site.

since I am active on both, any questions re homeschooling unschooling in italy are well received.
(how could I have forgotten them?)

Hi jan,
this is such a suprise...A group of friends and I have formed a site dedicated to alice miller and all connected to living in connection and joy with our children.

www.nontogliermiilsorriso.org
http://www.nontogliermiilsorriso.org/drupal/

Your website is one that we are drawing from for translations, and we have naturalchild.it as a link (we are keeping in mind the material he has already translated).
But for now we are mainly working on Alice Miller articles, as there is a real dearth of information here in italy, in regards to spanking, and maltreatment.

When I was invited to participate in this endevor, I was working on starting a site dedicated to the unschooling philosophy, with a special emphasis on the parenting aspect (as there is a black hole here in italy for connection parenting and living as partners with our children-im sorry my writing is a bit stilted this am, im writing more in italian lately...and my english isnt flowing yet!)
They are willing to give me a space for unschooling, but really we are just getting started.

Anyway, I have a few other contacts:

this is run by Claudia, a very helpful person, and who homeschools her children with an unschooly approach.
the first link is her website, the second the page with articles on parenting, and the third the link to homeschooling articles that she wrote:

http://www.alberosacro.org/
http://genitoriefigli.wordpress.com/
http://genitoriefigli.wordpress.com/2007/10/15/la-scuola-familiare-o-paterna/

she also has a little booklet available with all laws etc, more articles both hers and of others for only 10 Euro...its very nice tho nothing like your recent book on unschooling!

I just checked out her links (as I was gathering them) and noticed that she doesnt have pubblic anymore the articles: they are all in her little booklet.

okay...to continue!
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/learning-unlimited/?yguid=286713246
is the european list for homeschoolers: it keeps everyone updated on the laws and issues that come up for each country of the Ec.

http://it.groups.yahoo.com/group/scuolafamiliare/?yguid=286713246
and this is the only other list active...its run by mormons aònd they are not unschooly at all, but its the only list we have that is active enough to connect. We are so few and far between here it is sad.

I am also in connection with a group of homeschooling "wannabes" (no kids as yet big enough to be official) who are "cc" --we have a mailing list, but no yahootype list as of yet. Id be willing to startone myself, actually started to many times this year. But I continue to wonder if I will be the only one there! Not many participate on the only active one.

I am also member of the msn list you mentioned but I would like point out that it is run by a german woman who unschooled in east germany (illegally of course as it is the ony country that denies the freedom to homeschool). She had started that list when living in italy many years ago, and the only trouble is, there is no real support for issues particular to italy. Sheis not current with the every changing laws in regards to homeschooling here either (a real issue for italian homeschoolers-italy changes laws and leaders in the blink of an eye it seems!)

If you would like to give me a little moral support :o) I would love to start a list similar to always learning or always unschooled...actually my favorite list is Consensual Living, but that is not really unschooling...

hows that for an overwhelmingly long comment?
im sure I left something out, but my boy raff really wants to go and research leonardo da vinci--so I guess Ill go and light the stoves! Id love to hear back from you...

who is publishing your book in italian? is the translater "unschooling savvy"? I find there can be a terrible translation in parenting articles and books when the translater is not sympathetic the the issue...
