VA educational policy
I'm new to unschooling and homeschooling in general.When I filed my notice of intent to provide home education, I learned that by August each year proof of my son's academic progress. This can be through providing my son's results on a national standardized test or written verification from someone who has a M.Ed. and is certified to teach in VA that my son has made adequate progress for the school year (this person is also supposed to be "working" with my son).Since my son is deschooling he…See More

- I'm learning to let my son lead the way in his learning. I'm also learning to lift the restraints that I always thought were a part of "good parenting." We are just new to the process.

- I'm a single mom who works from home. I got into the area of trauma healing and coping with grief after my husband was killed by a drunk driver when our son was 18 months old. Although my husband's death defined my work, I no longer let it define my life. My son and I enjoy a great life, surrounded by the beauty of nature and exploring the wonderful world in which we live.
