I have a little experience with each and the vibe of each is a little different.
HSC's conference is always in Sacramento and CHN's in Ontario. HSC's conference is really a family event with the teen's putting on…"
at this time it means that what I thought was "radical unschooling" is not "radical unschooling" and the more that I think I understand the more I understand that I really didn't have a clue. update 1/10 I now find that I do understand but the process continues to evolve on a regular basis. It is not just a one "I get it" moment is is a series of incidences that I learn from and move forward.
how long have you been unschooling or homeschooling?
10/08 Decided it was the right thing for us, definitely what I knew would have been best for me, in '98. When my oldest was about 6 months old. And until recently, I thought we had spent much of our time in the unschooling realm.
1/10 I'd really rather not make a call on a specific length of time because it is muddled with "oh you need to learn to read lets practice" moments. Those moments stopped in about 07-08 depending on the kid but there was still forced learning ops going on. I don't know when that stopped.

a little about me
I read. I sew. I craft, a little. I bake, a little. I really like my kids. I feel lucky to get to spend my life married to my bestf from HS. Life really is good. My first tattoo says "Live Love Learn Laugh" my life's motto that started when I was a young teen.
OMG, Jenn...you just gave me the crashing realization that I have nothing ready, no clothes, no food, no stuff for the sale, nothing! We did have a wonderful day yesterday at the Civil War thing and Krisula's pool. Drew was looking for J at the park until I told him that I didn't think you were coming. :) OK, deep breath, check. Coffee, almost ready....
