considering unschooling

I live in Huntsville and would love to find some unschooling parents in the area to connect with. I am wanting to unschool my 8 and possibly 13 year old (it will be his choice). I also researched cover schools over the summer and believe it or not Magnolia Academy was the one that caught my attention. I would love to chat about it sometime. Thanks

Hello everyone my name is Jenn. I am a SAH mom of 3. Both my boys, ages 13 and 8, go to public school. Both of my boys were labeled "slow readers" in 1st grade and held back for this very reason. My middle son has been labeled "special needs" also because he is a super energetic, easily frustrated, often aggressive child. what does "radical unschooling" mean to you?: thinking outside the box and developing a real "JOY" of learning.

how long have you been unschooling or homeschooling?: I currently do not do either. I am looking into this style of learning and am VERY interested. I have read the Unscooling Unmanual and the Unschooling Handbook. Both are great but I would like to connect with veteran unschoolers.

a little about me: I am a stay at home mom of 3 wonderful and energetic chidren. I consider myself a free-thinker and don't go with the flow. I question EVERYTHING and love to learn. I went through 13 years of public school education and was so burnt out that I never went to college. Despite not being college educated I think I am highly intelligent and tend to dive deeply into those things I am most interested in. I love organic food, reading, gardening (a little), yoga, nature, etc etc
