- what does "radical unschooling" mean to you?
- By unschooling I will inspire my son rather than filling him with facts. I will be responding to him rather than demanding of him. I will motivate him to explore on his own rather than controlling his explorations. I will allow him to think instead of repeating my thoughts. I will make room for him to find lessons in everything that he sees, smells, touches, hears, and tastes, and bringing them together to give deeper meaning and fulfillment to life. Unschooling is learning from life and being free!!
- how long have you been unschooling or homeschooling?
- My son attended a preschool for more than a year. Unfortunately, as a single mom I was forced to sacrifice my son until I was able to have some control over my situation, needless to say, it was a very difficult time. Now we are past that and have been unschooling for about a year.

- Jonathan, a very charismatic 51/2 year old.
- a little about me
- I am a 34 year old single mother, now living in SD CA. I am looking forward to relocating to Ithaca NY in the summer of 2009. I recently visited a friend there who is unschooling her 2 children and I was impressed by the whole homeschooling community. Some of my interests that come to mind now are: living around nature, alternative energy, sustainability, homeschooling, whole foods, alternative medicine, a strong community, and co-housing.
