Profile Information

what does "radical unschooling" mean to you?
Radical Unschooling means that each of my children can be who they are. They can develop and learn and follow their interest, not an agenda developed by an entity. Radical Unschooling is about trust and allowing and partnering with each member of our family in creating what we want our lives to become. It is freedom.
how long have you been unschooling or homeschooling?
We have been homeschooling seven years. We have been unschooling for five. It was gradual and then it became a point of no return. I am immensely grateful for this wonderful life
names and ages of children
Tony 26, Andrew 24, Megan 19, Jessy 17, Robby 15, Levi 14, Ashton 12, Tycen 10 , Olivia 8
a little about me
I am a woman in pursuit. Pursuit of joy, bliss, fun, information, experience.. all of it. I live in two world geographically. The kids and I hop between Grand Ronde Oregon and Cut Bank Montana. We love both spots. My hubby of 26 years works hard in Montana and travels with us when he gets a break. In Montana we have five dogs, three cats, two goats and live on forty five acres on a creek. Our home there is called Cactus Quarry. In Oregon we live with our grown kids and niece and their families including four grandbabies and two daughter in laws in a wonderful adventure called Hidden Springs Chalet. It is a sixteen bedroom, ten bath chalet on two fertile acres in the Willamette Valley. I love the beach the green and the folks in Oregon and someday hope it will be our full time digs;0! I love to read, write, dance, sing, garden, work and love hard. I love to travel and cook and get up early.

Hey - I heard a rumor that you are in Oregon now? Is this true? Is there a chance of getting together?

We were selling GS cookies in front of B of A a couple of weeks ago and saw a van that looked like yours and I wondered if it could be you... I was so (busy is NOT the word) snowed under with cookie sales that I didn't call to find out. (Steffi and her four friends sold over 6600 boxes in 25 days - so it is no exaggeration when I say snowed under!)

Kathleen, we have been thinking of you and all your family, and wondering how all is going. Then we transferred some pix and videos from Emily's camera and there was the movie we made while Ashton and Robby were visiting. It was a video of us throwing our 5 dozen rotten Easter eggs around in the breaks around the Milk River. We enjoyed that visit so much. I greatly regret not getting the message you left some time later on my horrible new cell phone saying Robby would have liked to come visit. I was sad to miss that opportunity. I found the msg many weeks later. Wherever you are, we are thinking of you! Cameron P in Havre

Thank you for letting me know, Kathleen. I'll swap you a whole case of my books for your place in either Oregon or Montana!

In San Antonio!!!! So very, very close. If you LOVE a Road Trip. Pack up now.

LOL, Armadillo. Be careful what you ask for. XD In Montana don't you have snow, alot, too? The best lightning storm I ever saw was in Montana. I LOVE BLACKBERRIES, especially beautiful fresh ones.

We just bought a local business, in fact we're finishing up paperwork now, so I'll be stuck there until the manager can really run it on her own. THEN we're talking Road Trips galore!

Do you hear it? I certainly do. Sounds a lot like plans in the making. What would you like us to bring from Texas? When would you like to visit Austin?

I love Wooo Hooo!

I already own 2 bridges and an ocean, I'm thinking that your deal would probably be right up my ally. I pretty sure we won't get there soon. Although, now that I give it serious thought it is a quite attractive option. I figure by next Summer I could bring the kids on a whirlwind tour of the great NW, including one of the few states I've not been to, Oregon, and then swing back through Montana, Wyoming (gotta take pics of the Tetons) and so on.

More importantly, thanks so much for the generous invitation for the tour.
