a little about me
I am totally into the law of attraction. It seems to me that things that occur to me or my family have some reason. Be it negative or positive, I can look at it and say "Wow, now that is something I never would have guessed would have taught me something." I have run into negative people along the way, but somehow each situation has encouraged me to be a better person. I love moving, animals, and reading. But, my biggest accomplishment in my many adventures with my children has been evolving into a real life unschooler and trusting myself with this choice. Trust me when I say that I have had to battle many a family quarrel, but I don't bother anymore. My kids are happy, smart and pretty neat people.

I think renting is great when you first move to an area anyway, so you can figure out exactly where you want to be. You'd definitely lose on selling your house right now too, so I totally understand. Partly why we aren't buying a chunk of land to build on right now. We just can't sell this house for enough yet.

Anyhoo, come on up for a visit if you can. I'll introduce you to the crew!:) Here's what I found on the new children's hospital, to open in March: http://www.msha.com/body03.cfm?id=45&action=detail&ref=784

Oh and if you decide to look for a home anywhere in TN, let us know and my dh can refer you to a realtor in the area you're interested in. If you want to look up here in the Tri-cities you could have an unschooling Dad show you around.:) He's a great realtor and very patient in helping people find just the right home.

Hi Kimberly,

I can't tell you much about Knoxville (I don't love it there) but I've heard they have a good children's hospital. We are actually getting a children's hospital right in Johnson City, I believe it's almost finished. Still under construction though.

I personally like a more rural area, with smaller towns and up here in the Tri-cities it fits that need very well. On top of that we have a very rich and active unschooling community that I cherish. Asheville is close by and a lot of fun to visit. Great food, interesting people, very artsy/progressive/hippy vibe going on over there.

The mountains are beautiful up here too.:) We like hiking and river acitvities so this is the perfect home for us. We're in Jonesborough which is a very small town near Johnson City.

I saw your ?s about moving to Conneticut. I don't know much about it, though. I wish I could help you out.
I'd tell you all about the Jocelyn Ctr in Boston, but MA doesn't make it easy for families to live here.
Good luck. I hope you find the info you were looking for.

Thanks, lady. You are terrific.
Schooling through RVing would work if Dad could telecommute. Failing that, I guess it's all about finding the miracle that would allow what you want to really happen. And keep looking in Alabama, those people will begin to find you, especially if you just become OK with not having connected with them yet. Have great fun today!

Hi Kimberly! It's interesting that you called it a story. I wonder if there's something you tell yourself about staying in one place or not being in motion that makes it really hard to enjoy just being where you are? It's no better here than there. I mean, I have a hankering for Oregon, but I recognize that I crave change. I'm one of those who could sell it all for an RV and a road map in an instant.

When and why were you considering moving? We left Atlanta in search of a Waldorf school that went to High school. Came to Austin and after 5 years were homeschooling all the kids, finally and permanently. How ironic is that?

texas can be like that too. and it depends in texas where you move. to far west and its hot and dry, to far south or east and its hot and humid, theres not really anything to far north lol. but we have 2 1/2 seasons. its nice to talk to other people who know about diabetes.
