(Forgive me if this is rambling or disjointed. I pulled an all-nighter last night for the first time since high school, and my 3 year old is "styling" my hair as I type. Oy.)My (then almost 5 year…Continue

My husband is an airman in the Navy. We are an interesting pair- military man and hippie- and sometimes we make it work. We will be moving from Jacksonville, FL to Virginia Beach, Va in less than a month. Before that we were in Chicago. I am looking forward to finding a support system here (online)…See More

(Forgive me if this is rambling or disjointed. I pulled an all-nighter last night for the first time since high school, and my 3 year old is "styling" my hair as I type. Oy.)My (then almost 5 year old) was just on the precipice of having that "Ah ha!" moment in reading when she was thrown off track by doubt. She spent some time with a cousin who was "reading" more, though in a different manner (the cousin goes to daycare full time where they use a memorization method, rather than phonics). My…See More

Profile Information

what does "radical unschooling" mean to you?
To me, "radical unschooling" means fully trusting each child's curiosity and ability to make discoveries encouraged by those curiosities.
how long have you been unschooling or homeschooling?
My children are 5 and (nearly) 3, so this is our first "official" year.
first names of children
Savannah, age 5
Marley, age 3 as of Oct 23
a little about me
I am a stay at home mom, Navy wife, and occasionally I get to be a musician and an artist. I am still wondering down my own academic, and spiritual path and I am excited to witness my children begin down their own.
