Hi Laurie. Glad to see you here.
Sorry I never got back to you about your trip to our neck of the woods. My dad actually passed away last week...things have been hard all month.
I hope you had a good trip. Hopefully we can get together at some point.
Say hello to all.
Jean

Profile Information

what does "radical unschooling" mean to you?
Living with acceptance, appreciation, consideration, respect, dignity, and love. Treating people (all ages) as people, worthy of the same respect and consideration as any other person.

Living is learning. Learning is a by-product of living. ie. You can't help but learn (and have learning-takes) as you go about life. The most important thing is to feel happy in your heart as you go about living!
how long have you been unschooling or homeschooling?
Always. When my oldest was two, we were still nursing, always together, and I knew I wanted to continue to be with her rather than send her away for most of the day. I began reading about homeschooling and went to a local Unschooling Conference in NJ where David Albert spoke. My husband came on board with the idea of home/unschooling as well. I continued to read more about unschooling and spoke to various parents who were home/unschooling. We fell into an unschooling lifestyle where we try to help our kids do what interests them, follow our own passions, have fun together, and develop a good relationship with each other. (We've all had some learning-takes along the way and know we'll keep learning from them.)
