what does "radical unschooling" mean to you?

Unschooling is a homeschooling philosophy where the children learn by living and not by curriculum. Parents help children pursuit their interests and suggest new ones without compulsion. Radical means the philosophy applies to day-to-day routines as well.

how long have you been unschooling or homeschooling?

My child never went to school. I home educated in the UK for 6 years. My influences were mostly Taking Children Seriously and the Autonomous Home Education movements in the UK.

a little about me

I'm a single mother. I might marry and move to PA. I'm currently reading Sandra Dodd's "Big Book of Unschooling". I'm interested in learning how unschooling works in PA.
Personal (non-parenting) interests are: academic art (learning how to draw), sequential art (how to make a graphic novel), PC gaming (mainly Adventure, with some action and RPG thrown in) and philosophy.
