Hello from West Central Florida, USA!

Hi, I am new to the group and wanted to introduce myself. I'm Lisa and my daughter is Kylie. She is 9 years old and this is our first year of unschooling. Glad we found this group. what does "radical unschooling" mean to you?: To me, radical unschooling means "unlearning" all the methods of education that have been ingrained in me for years, and allowing my child to learn what she wants to learn, when she wants to learn it, with no added pressure from teachers or peers. For my child, learning at her pace and on her terms has been much more successful than our previous "homeschool" program or her years in the public school system.

how long have you been unschooling or homeschooling?: We are relatively new to home/unschooling and have been at it now for one year.

first names of children: Kylie, age 9

a little about me: I'm a work-at-home mom *have a full time job but am fortunate enough to be able to do it at home!* I raised three kids in the public school system and decided to try homeschooling with my fourth last year after moving to a new state. After several months of using a traditional homeschool curriculum with little success, we made the jump to unschooling. And we're loving it!!
