Friday Fill In

You know you're old when chocolate Horlicks & a good book snuggled up on the sofa with your husband & kids are your idea of the perfect Friday evening.

My heart is divided between Carcassone and Agatha Christie.

A housemaid is what I need RIGHT NOW!

I have felt the crumbs in the bed, I have known the depth… Continue

principles vs. birthday party hit

I have an idea for making daleks from chocolate teacakes as party of S's birthday party. Mini Smarties would make perfect bobbly bits on the sides. Matchsticks (the chocolate ones) would make great arms. But Mini Smarties are made by Nestle, as are Matchsticks. I've been boycotting Nestle for 15 years now.

Saying yes..

This week I'm making a concious effort to try to say yes more often. Mostly going swimmingly, though I did have a little personal challenge to overcome when K, who's 6, asked to try some fish goujons. She said she liked it… Continue

Deadline: noon. Timestamp?

M's end of course assessment for his astronomy course was due in today by noon. So what time does he upload his work? 12:00 exactly!! Peace & harmony now restored & he's looking forward to doing 'nothing' though of course as we all know that actually means lots of stuff.
Meanwhile the girls are engrossed in playing a Harry Potter game they picked up at a car boot sale for £1. Which all leaves me free to try & get some jobs done - hoping for sun tomorrow so I can dry the washing.

Hello!
I was going to say, Marmite-lovers unite! But then I realised you might only have been commending Paddington, and be a Marmite-hater?!
