Profile Information

what does "radical unschooling" mean to you?
Learning through living. Giving children the freedom to learn what they want, when they want, and how they want. Trusting that children will learn what they need to to lead a happy and healthy life.
how long have you been unschooling or homeschooling?
5 years, starting with my now 9-yo. dd, Amy. Was introduced to it at a Live and Learn conference.
first names of children
Amy - 9 yo.
Lily - 5 yo.
a little about me
We live in a very rural area in NY with lots of animals (dogs, cat, guinea pigs, and fish). My background is in wildlife biology and I share that interest with my kids. I like to read, watch tv, and garden in my spare time (lol).

Bryce is deploying to Iraq for 6months...We are off to explore New Zealand for 3 of them. When we get home we'll be looking to run around here and keep ourselves occupied. Not sure what that will entails yet. I'll be checking in with you to see if we can meet up along the way. Please send love to Amy and Lily from Catalina.

Hey Marla! We've been thinking of you and the family. Any trips on the horizon?

Oh, I'll find some fabulous plaids eventually to use as a background for my page, I promise! I've been working on my website, though, so I had a lot of quilt pix edited and ready to use as backgrounds. I kind of like the linked rings thematically, although I think the header's too big. I'll fix it later.

Missed you too! Can't believe no one sang "Kansas City" at this year's talent show!

Hugs to all!

Same - it was great to meet you guys. I have been enjoying the CD - I forgot to get in on the CD signing...next time I see you all! Hello to your family. How's life in New York state?

I enjoyed seeing all the pictures of you and yours in Canada. It reminded me a lot of being at Live and Learn. Not because it was similar, but because there were so many faces that were the same.

Thank your for your comments about Peaceful Partnerships. It is nice to hear.
