Hi James, I'm a noob to radical unschooling and what I heard was this: "If you don't behave the way we want then we'll withhold our love to you." Thanks for sparking such a thought provoking discussion, I have learned a lot.

I let my daughter eat whenever she wants. We don't have "set" snack or mealtimes. My husband and I eat at relatively the same time every day and my daughter is welcome to eat along with us or not. She sort of "grazes" all day long but has develope...

Hi Miriam - Haven't read the other responses, but I imagine I am likely saying more of the same thing. I totally understand what you are going through! My daughter is a lolly fanatic as well. The good news is, it has calmed down a LOT and she does...

her poop was soooo black the next morning. (i see it as she rarely flushes)i'm thinking it was from the gelatin in these popsicles. nuts! Gelatin is clear. It was probably the food coloring that colored her poo.

Whew, breathe. I imagine that part of why your daughter enjoyed the treats at the pool more than the chicken you were encouraging her to eat is because she was with friends. Linnaea's diet has changed when she's showing other people the freedoms ...

Thank you all for your advice. My kids still trust me so the lolly tin is back in force and I'm getting over my nerves about the whole thing. The thing I'm trying to teach is what I most need to learn! I'm getting better at looking after myself bu...

what does "radical unschooling" mean to you?
I don't think I'm a radical unschooler. I do give my kids many freedoms of choice but not food, dvd's, toy's. I think that will come as they get older but I'm open to change.
how long have you been unschooling or homeschooling?
I have been unschooling for 7 yrs since my first born was in utero.
names and ages of children
Finn (boy) 7
Sienna (girl) 5
a little about me
Unschooling Mum which as you probably know means more than can be written in a box! Seeking to be more aware of myself and who I am. Love animals and observing them. Love being outside without people around. Multi talented and grounded (mostly)

I must remember not to berate myself or perform public flagellation just because I'm not SUPERMUM (at the moment). My son ate breakfast then nothing but sweets until 7:30pm and said he wasn't feeling well...uhuh
