We have savings bonds that can be used tax-free if it goes to secondary education. Kirby took two free classes. Marty talks sometimes about the possibility of studying engineering, but I don't know the rules on how old he can be before they can't ...

Profile Information

what does "radical unschooling" mean to you?
Applying mindful parenting to all aspects of life, including education.
how long have you been unschooling or homeschooling?
I discovered the concept when I was pregnant with my first baby, and immediately I knew it was how I wanted to live with my family. Everything Ive done since has been with that in mind. Mindful parenting is our goal-technically we wont be homeschooling until our kids are school aged. :)

Im wondering what people are doing about saving for education for their kids.
My kids are 5 and 1, so they'd benefit from the magic of interest accrual if we started investing and saving now. But I have no idea if they'll choose school or anything that we could use the money for (if we chose specific education savings accts like the 529 or Coverdale acct)

Do you know anything about the IL Unschool Network? They mentioned it at the HOUSE council meeting but I can't find anything online. It's a new network and part of AdHoc.

It is weird discovering people you don't know are reading. I just assume everyone is someone I know in IRL or from unschooling lists. What I learned is that the majority are wanna be fulltime travelers....not unschoolers, at all. me..shocked!

Thanks for reading! Have a good one!
