what does "radical unschooling" mean to you?: I'm not sure I'm trying to figure it all out!

how long have you been unschooling or homeschooling?: Since Sept of 2011

a little about me: I'm a mother of one wonderful almost 8 year old. Married to Frank for going on 22 years. Trying to recover from my childhood of disrespect and verbal abuse. Trying to stop the cycle. I understand that punishment doesn't work, but I don't know how to handle the turmoil in our house right now. Looking for support and advice!
