- what does "radical unschooling" mean to you?
- To me radical unschooling is about completely letting go of the prejudices that I was raised with and trusting my son completely to learn the things he wants and needs to learn. It means living in the present, and literally following his thinking from moment to moment (he's only two now). It's also about eliminating power struggles through creative thinking and planning, and giving our family plenty of choices with each new experience.
- how long have you been unschooling or homeschooling?
- I first came across the idea when my son was about a year old, and it immediately resonated with me that this was the way I wanted to raise my children. Over a year later, I'm feeling even more committed than ever, and am doing all I can to foster a supportive and trusting learning experience for my growing boy.
