"ПРивет Анна, у меня два мальчика, 3.5 года и 22 месяца, я тоже увлекаюсь радикал анскулинг, хотя и работаю full time, и мальчишки ходят в детский сад, но это не мешает нам жить на одной волне. Мы в Эдинбурге. Как ты справляешся не работая и без отца…"

Profile Information

what does "radical unschooling" mean to you?
respect, joy, being present in the moment, following our interests
how long have you been unschooling or homeschooling?
We've been practicing attachment parenting since the birth of the children (and even during pregnancies) which then naturally flowed into radical unschooling. Our children are 3 and 4.5 years old; the oldest is now school age and we now officially homeschooling.
first names of children
Thomas 4.5 years old; Leo 3 years old
a little about me
I am a scientist working at the University of Edinburgh as a Research Fellow in Physics. Since 2011 I work at University part time as well as running my own business of mentoring people in academia and beyond. Due to personal fllowship at Uni and the nature of my business I have a flexible working schedule and get to spend a lot of time with our children. I am a very involved mom. My husband is stay-at-home dad at the moment.

In my life, education, grades, awards, career have been always very important, and it is only with the birth of my children that I could start exploring alternative ways of living. Both kids born naturally at home, we practiced attachment parenting, including baby wearing and tandem breastfeeding, and general respect towards our children. The two boys have been my greatest teacher so far!

Hi Olga
Moving has been a lot more complicated and time consuming than I expected and I am just starting to feel a little more organised! It will be good to get together. I will need to look where Liberton is and we can work out when and where to meet! My boys are older (7 and 10) but they are very sweet with little ones. Denise

Hi Olga,

My kids are 4.5 and 8, but there are other families with young children that plan to home educate here in Edinburgh. On our online network we have an early years group that meet regularly as well there is the LLL group that a friend of mine is involved with they meet in Bruntsfield at the Pregnancy and Parents Centre on the 2nd (young babies) and 4th (toddlers) Fridays of the month.

There are also many families with older and younger children, it would be great if we could meet up sometime as our policy is to meet folks in person before approving them to our network. After that you can just use the site to make contact with lots of other families. Edinburgh is a great place to home educate and there are many families doing it.

If you went along to a LLL meeting you could meet Gillian who is a member of the network or perhaps we can just meet up sometime anywhere you like. I will add you as a friend so we can send private messages if that is ok.

Hi Olga
There are lots of unschooling families in Edinburgh, we have a ning network setup for Edinburgh Home Ed families. Stay in touch and when you get into town you can meet one of us so you can join our network. Our network is private so we just want to meet families and make sure they are real home ed families before approving.
There are quite a few little ones around as well.
I look forward to meeting you in the future.
