Good news! I was wondering about this just the other day, wishing I knew how it turned out for you. Thanks for the update! Looking forward to seeing pictures. : )

Manny the Moth

Emma found a cocoon last week, and, thinking it was an old one in which the pupa had dried up, she cut it open. It was still squishy, though, so she wrapped it up in a leaf and brought it home and put it in an insect cage. This morning she happened to notice the cage and there was Man… Continue

Decluttering Thoughts

I am *really* wanting to declutter some....but it's SO hard to think of what to toss and what to keep!

We went through a couple shelves of books again today, and the girls choose to toss another box full of books. I kinda wish we had finished ALL the shelves, but they both found a book to read and went off reading and I got a phone call so that ended that. ; )

We're going to a used book sale Monday night, and hopefully someone will want to buy lots of books. I have, I think, 14 boxes to take!… Continue

Quotes from Teach Your Own

Bits of thoughts I'm putting here so I can find them later if I need them.

"...they [children] need access. They need a chance, sometimes, for honest, serious, unhurried talk; or sometimes, for joking, play, and foolishness; or sometimes, for tenderness, sympathy, and comfort. They need, much of the time, to share your life, or at least, not to feel shut out of it, in short, to go some of the places you go, see and do some of the things that interest you, get to know some of your friends, find… Continue

Snapshot

A quick snapshot

...right now....

Emma is playing with dinosaurs and Oscar, Oscar is chewing on a dinosaur egg.

Anna is playing with dinosaurs and trying to get the dinosaur egg away from Oscar. Anna's dinosaurs keep calling another dinosaur a "two-faced lummox". Where'd she pick *that* up? lol

DH is washing old bottles...he's found a new hobby; digging through old trash piles...there are lots of videos on you tube, try looking for "bottle digging". It's an interesting hobby...I was into it… Continue

My Mixed up Sleeps!

I had planned on going to a gardening seminar with Emma today, but I woke up at 5:30, fell back asleep at 8:30 and didn't wake up again until 12:30. The seminar started at 12. Doggone it! lol

I'll have to come up with some way to re-set my internal clock before spring...I hate to think of missing spring mornings because I'm doing the night-owl bit. : P

Well, honestly, I didn't think J would ever ask...he mentioned it once, but was amazed to find it goes from 9am-3pm, when he had thought to go from 1-1:30pm, lol.

When I told his auntie (and favourite cousin) he was thinking of it, they both said, "Does he know what time it starts?"...it was too funny...but he rarely gets up before 10am, usually more like 1pm, lol...too many American gaming friends.

Thanks for your comment Paige...I'm so pleased he decided against the little experiment, lol...I do think he is the type of person who will have to know for himself one day, but for now- I'm glad to have him home :0)

You have beautiful girls!
