what does "radical unschooling" mean to you?

whole life unschooling-- it is amutual respect, priciples based family life, instead of a life based on authority with obedience -- it extends from learning and education without curriculum, limits and controls to our whole family life as partners with each of us being valued and respected for who we are, right now --not who we want someone to be

how long have you been unschooling or homeschooling?

We started homeschooling a little more than 7 years ago. Started schooling at home with curriculum and set it aside within about a month to do what our daughter wanted to do. For a couple of years we went back and forth between school at home and then deschooling and unschooling. Finally I realized that the only thing that really worked was unschooling. Within about 6 months of that we moved to a more radical approach to it, meaning it extended to our whole life...not just school type things.
