There is a group here at Radical Unschoolers Network called "Aussie Radical Unschoolers". Come join us, and you can get to know some other Aussies. One, at least, lives in Sydney, and can put you in touch with the Sydney Natural Learners' Group. ...

Hello!!

Thanks for the friend invite. Mia would love to be pen friends with Molly -- e-mail/snail mail, which or both!!??

Mia has basic letter recognition, but not yet able to read/write fluently. She'll enjoy it!

Hi!
I think this looks great it may just take abit of getting used to. I think if it doesn't work then a yahoo group called Aussie Radical Unschoolers would be fantastic as we know that format works well. The only thing I find difficult with this is it's abit hard to get the flow of conversation. But I think, for me, it'll just take abit of time and I'll get the hang of it.

Hey Kazza,

got an invite and joined something - you know how hopeless I am at this kind of thing.

But I'll be in whatever you are, lol.

Profile Information

what does "radical unschooling" mean to you?
Living as though school does not exist, and allowing the enjoyment of that freedom to be a part of our whole life. Enjoying living and learning naturally as we go about our days, using all the resources available to us, and yet not separating life into "learning" activities and other things.
how long have you been unschooling or homeschooling?
Since 2005
names and ages of children
Trav - 15
Brady - 12
Declan - 9
Molly - 6
a little about me
I used to want to be a primary teacher! I didn't go down that path (had itchy feet - had to travel!) but did end up with 4 children of my own. The first two went to school for various reasons, but we brought them back home in 2005 and I suddenly realised, "Hey, two dreams have collided! Now I get to be a Mum AND a teacher!" That "dream" finished about a week later when I quickly realised my kids didn't want me to be their teacher at all! Sometimes they teach me things, sometimes I teach them, and sometimes we learn together. I love reading, relationships, living in harmony with the environment, using as few chemicals as possible, living out my christian faith outside of the box of organised religion, and am passionately committed to whole of life unschooling.
