Profile Information

what does "radical unschooling" mean to you?
Letting them be and trusting that they and I will learn stuff as and when we are ready...I think we are built to hoover up information...discussions seem to be very important in our house.

Life is for living, we have choices, what we are feeling is important...
how long have you been unschooling or homeschooling?
I took my younger son out of school Jan 2008 due to his distress. I looked after him and looked after myself, we gradually chilled out more and more. I read a lot about Home Ed because I wanted to, he played a lot of games and we watched a lot of James Bond films.

He chose to return to school this autumn, but after 2 weeks he decided it was not right for him, so he is home educated again.

I went on a Zen retreat recently; I love the photographs Charlie Bibby takes; I put greek yoghurt in my homemade soup; I miss my lovely old cat Snowy.

International Freedom in Education Day

is today the 15th September 20008.

Think of parents and children in Japan, Germany and other countries who don't yet have the legal right to home educate.

Hallo World!

This is my first blog entry, 'first post' yells Thomas from his laptop.

'Who wants chips' asks Stuart.

Hugh has disappeared upstairs.

The black and white cat has been sitting on top of the MG, at least someone is enjoying it.

Hello. I started college Monday last week and it has been a very hectic week. Hopefully this week will be a little less so. I am studying Software Development.

Hi Sarah,
Thank you for your note. I am glad you found a moment and are enjoying the interview. Sounds like we both have boys named Hugh. Is that a popular name in UK? Not in the states at all, though I just love it (and it is a family name.) I would love to Skype with you sometime about unschooling in the UK, as we have thought many times about moving out there for a year or so.

Do you have Skype?
Have a lovely day.
smiles and joy,
Rain
