Silly? Not at all! We've all been through that. I'd bet most of us still go through that occasionally.

It does take a lot to build up confidence that mindful parenting and unschooling not only work but work better than conventional ideas. So much of what we say runs counter to what everyone believes must be true that it takes a lot of reading and discussing and real life examples of how -- and why! -- it does work.

Unlike training methods -- which conventional parenting mostly is -- mindful parenting is based on the foundation of basic needs of love and trust. Fortunately it's not airy fairy philosophy that sounds pretty ;-) You can read the experiences of real unschoolers with growing and grown kids which helps a lot.
