(: peace out homie :)
It's definitley a little odd for us to be going to school after unschooling our whole lives... i wanted to go to school for several reasons. One, I thought i was really "behind" in schoolwork. Because, well, we didn't do any. I am in 9th grade and I'm taking Algebra 1, Spanish 1, World Geography, Health, Biology, English 1, and Art. We are coming to the end of our first quarter, and I have the highest grades in the whole class in Health, Biology, English, and Spanish. I thought it would be SO hard. Another reason that I wanted to go was because I didn't have many friends, and the ones that I did have I did not get to see much. What I learned is that kids at school are shallow, and generally not very fun to be with. I love my homeschool friends so much more! I miss them tons. It's really a big change from being so free to not having any adults trust you, asking to use the bathroom, not being able to eat when you are hungry, not being able to wear what you want (we have a uniform), having to sit still all the time, not being able to run and get a sweater if you are cold, etc. It's really weird to have everyone around me just not CARE about learning or anything! It's just.. weird. They don't listen to instructions, they goof off, they CHEAT (EVERYone cheats! it's so weird!) they text, etc. To me it's like, I CHOSE to come here to learn, why don't YOU want to learn? I like it, but I think I'm going to quit when the year is over.
