what does "radical unschooling" mean to you?: I want so badly to un-do the harm school has done to my children. I have a special needs child who has been tormented, teased, bullied, and as of yesterday physically beaten up in public school. Nobody wants to teach her, they want to put her in "life skills" and tell her she can't grow up to "be" anything. My son has been stressed to the point of daily tears with school. They consider him above average and instead of nurturing him, they push him to the point of a mental breakdown. Unschooling means allowing my children to live, in peace, and learn as they WANT to, not as they are forced to.

how long have you been unschooling or homeschooling?: I have not started. I am desperate to find someone to guide me through how to begin.

a little about me: I think my first explination describes me and my situation, as I wrote a book! I am a mother of two, and my kids are my life. My daughter has been struggling for her life, coping with a rare disease. My son has learned to be strong and loving and wonderful. We are a family desperately seeking help.
