Profile Information

what does "radical unschooling" mean to you?
Radical unschooling means learning independently of public school structure. It means going beyond structured homeschooling to where the learner directs his/her own learning and does not rely on others to guide them. Learners follow their passions and direct themselves. They may seek mentors, apprenticeships and learning experiences that meet their needs.
how long have you been unschooling or homeschooling?
I am a public school teacher who sees the need for unschooling in the world, maybe even in public schools.

a little about me
I believe in unschooling but I am caught in the cycle dependence on my job in a public high school.

I am a professional photographer when I am not teaching journalism and English. I also have learned how to build wooden boats. I hope to convert a car from gasoline powered to electric in the next couple years.
