Sorry I didn't catch the message sooner, we spent the weekend at Hyde park and the geology museum. Xion loves to bike and ride his scooter as well. He hasn't gotten much into chatting but has just recently discovered club penquin and loves it. We live on the bench by Overland and Roosevelt. It would be great to meet up at a park or the like and let the boys play. When your guys schedule opens up we would love to get together.

Wow, there really are other unschoolers in Boise? Xion, who just turned eight in June, and I are always looking to connect with other nonschoolers. We have had terrible luck here in Boise. Our schedule is a little wonky because I am a single mom who works and unschools, but we would love to find a time to meet. I am always looking for new friends for xion to play with that we can relate to. If you guys are interested lets try to set up a time to meet. Thanks for getting in contact, sometimes it feels a little hopeless here in Boise.

Yeah, Marc is from Rochester and I am from Watkins Glen, right over the hill from Ithaca. I moved to Rochester after college and met and married Marc there. We felt isolated, too, and ditched the place for Seattle.

I'll send Linda an email. Thanks, Steve!

Hey Steve,

I just read one of your forum posts where you say you lived in Ithaca for 6 years. Really? I grew up there- in Watkins Glen. Isn't it beautiful?

Thanks for your kind comments. Ronnie will appreciate them a lot. She's still very insecure about how her talks went over.

We have approximately a zillion photos from our trip. Lago di Garda was quite beautiful. Rome was... well, remember the old maxim - The glory that was Greece, the grandeur that was Rome? It was impressive.

And then there's Venice. And Ireland. Too much to tell! But I did blog about the most important part - FLYING!

Just kidding. Kind of.

Hey, Steve,

Well I'm glad y'all enjoyed my multi-frame moment of fame on Craig's video. (grin)

I'll probably get around to posting some European trip stories on my blog eventually. Meanwhile, my wife, Ronnie, has already written a coupla posts at her/our Zombie Princess blog, if ya wanna give those a perusal. Delete Comment

Hope you are recovering fom your cold. That darn San Diego sunshine. :) Is Andrew's tramp class for skiing? I'm wondering if they're related somehow. And I can't believe you sound so excited about subfreezing temps! It's going to be 95 here today- crazy, but I also don't think I can handle zero in Oct. You must be a die hard skiier.

As we get closer to the conference I'll tap Linda for some help. I'm in a bit of a lull right now.

Enjoy the rest of your week. Glad you're back home with your family!

Hey Steve, I tried to send this earlier, but I don't think it went through. I have enjoyed the SSUDs group as well, and I look forward to hearing more from you. It has been nice to hear and learn from dads with such familiar experiences.
Take care.

I'm a traditionally-overschooled, multipli-degreed engineer doing research and development at a moderately large corporation. I still have some deschooling to do but have made great progress by ongoing immersion in the unschooling parent community.
