"I hear why you call it unusual as it's still not that mainstream and it seems abilities are more easily accepted publicly, in the mainstream, if they're academic or arty or sporty or mechanical, but not if it's about energy or energy…"

Profile Information

what does "radical unschooling" mean to you?
It means not forcing children to learn.
how long have you been unschooling or homeschooling?
It was Jacob who really brought on the unschooling. I'd always wanted to homeschool but we had some bad stints with some Montessori schools in between homeschooling and unschooling. Our unschooling has been kind of roller coastery. Since we live in PA I have been bombarded with forbodings of bad things. Sometimes I fight the stress and the urge to force my child to do things he doesn't want to do - like write.
first names of children
Jacob Sky is eight years old he likes Karate, music, reading, magic tricks and science. He loves people and wants more of them.
a little about me
I'm always going against the grain it seems. I'm trying to de-school my self since the instruction I received all my life about how to learn messed me all up and I have trouble running a natural course. HA HA
I woke up today, as I have been all year, trying to figure out how I'll get my son to do some paperwork so I have something for the portfolio.
Just to list some things that have been, is or will be a part of my life to one extent or another:
I'm the oldest of eight kids, vegetatrian, no-vax, breast feeding, cloth diapering, stay-at-home mom (for now), green, home education, child advocate, animal rights advocate, outdoors-woman, rock climber (but not for a while) and I love the sand and the water. I love to read and write. I'm a dreamer.
