- what does "radical unschooling" mean to you?
- Unlearning all the 'stuff'. Trusting my kids and not making choices
based on fear. Living our days together and enjoying our time, all
the time. Did I say trusting my kids? Respecting them. Allowing
them. Better late than early.......
- how long have you been unschooling or homeschooling?
- The process of arriving where we are today has taken five years.
We have tried two private schools in two different cities and a
public school in a small town. More time has been spent out of school than in school. Today we are firmly planted in our unschooling experience, after much experimenting and learning.
- names and ages of children
- Our oldest daughter is eight and was adopted from China when she
was three. Our youngest will be five soon and was adopted from
China when she was almost two.
- a little about me
- I am the 60 year old mother of these two children and I am thrilled
to have found my way through the deconditioning process of what
I believed to be what you do when you have kids....send them to
school....I am grieving the effects manadatory schooling had on my
family of origin. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to do it again.
We are having a wonder filled time together. Life could not be better
for us. I am concerned for all the children and families who believe
that school is the best or only option.
