what does "radical unschooling" mean to you?
Radical unschooling means so much more to me that a way of "education"...it means living life by our own rules, following our own dreams and passions, and putting little importance into what "they" say we should be doing. It means learning by living. In a nutshell, it means challenge the status quo, don't be brainwashed, and think for yourself! Above all, it means freedom!
how long have you been unschooling or homeschooling?
Nine years
first names of children
Seth (10)
Drew (14)
Chris (22)
a little about me
My interests include beekeeping, organic gardening, home coffee roasting, all things natural and organic (including medicine), raw/natural/slow foods, and as always, I'm an advocate for natural/homebirth and breastfeeding. This year, I want to learn to speak Spanish, play the guitar, and start writing my memoirs. I'm a labor and delivery nurse (hey, it pays the bills). I've been a mom since 1989, and I've gone from being strictly mainstream to this radically unschooling, freethinking facilitator-of-learning that I am today. I think I've got some pretty good stories to tell, and my kids ended up with one cool mama. :-)

"A non-violent revolution" is what Congressman John Lewis just called what we are witnessing right now.

NC Democrat Kay Hagan has taken Elizabeth Dole out of the Senate, and Democrat Bev Perdue is poised to be the first female governor of our state. And at this moment, with over 70% of precincts reporting, 50% of the presidential vote in North Carolina has gone to Barack Obama. NC has not voted for a Democratic presidential candidate since Jimmy Carter.

Hi Jennifer! Glad we connected! I love that you are a bee keeper. I have that same desire... though who knows if it will ever become a reality?
Our boys are the same age and so are we! Beautiful!
