the network for radical unschooling families
we've done nothing for weeks.
i'm backing off (trying to back off) of being the "dictator" at our house. a lot of my stress as a parent and "home-maker" come from having to be in charge of and do everything for everyone. i do not WANT the job of saying yes or no to everything at all times anymore! not that i'm trying to shirk my parental responsibilities- i just want a whole different relationship with my kids. i don't want to be constantly making…

Starting a day-to-day unschool blog
So, I've been thinking for awhile now that I want to start a blog or "online journal" just keeping track of what me and my kids are doing each day. I thought it would be fun to look back on and also to share with other unschoolers what a typical day might look like for us. I want it to be real, showing the days when we are pretty "lazy" to the outside world and also the days when we are more active and "out and about". LOL!

The hotel looks very nice but we chose to stay in another hotel 3 min. up/down the road. We plan on extending the trip by a few days and really needed a hotel with a kitchen. So, if anyone is…

We had spent the morning watching a couple large trees getting cut down in the neighbors yard. The kids were fascinated with the process. She sits up and asks me if the earth turns a little faster when the large tree trunks fall and shake the earth. What an…

Mario kart.
Today I spent £3 on a new steering wheel on a stand for our Wii - I almost didn't buy it but the children begged and I made myself remember that £3 isn't really much, between four children.
We got back from town around 5.30pm and the children have been playing with it almost non-stop. First playing Mario Kart properly, seeing if they could go faster with a wheel than a nunchuk, then onto taking 'driving tests' on the time trials (you pass is you get round without hitting…
