My big sister is so creative...

So, Rue has been very busy at her etsy shop...look what she's been up to!
Check her out at http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5055314

(She's my sister so I'm allowed to embarrass her with shameless promotion!)

Looking Closer

I was just wading through some posts from my other blog and saw an old post that I like. I thought this would be a good place to share.

Organized Chaos

(10/07)

To some, this may seem like a bunch of toys thrown haphazardly around the room. I admit, sometimes it takes a lot of internal fortitude to just go with it!

Thankfully, I have learned to look closer:…

The Easy Way

I have been thinking a lot about our parenting choices lately. Specifically, I have been thinking about a conversation I had with a friend last year. She and I don't really get to talk much anymore. We are not as close as we once were...but I love her dearly.

At one point we trained regularly in the backyard. I always enjoyed playing the double role of "Super Dad," as well as all of the evil villains. Over the years, I have gathered quite a number of "Super Dad" t-shirts, a hat, and some wonderful memories.

After countless adventures, my secret identity has become… Continue

Full circle...

My dad is recovering from surgery. He had his hip replaced on Thursday.

Dad is 77 years old. He has the beginning stages of some dementia. He is still in the place where he realizes he can't remember things. He gets this sad look on his face. "Memories are all we have" he'll say.

I am a daddy's girl. The youngest of 6 kids. The baby. I admit to having been spoiled by my dad. I admit that even as a married mother of three, he still spoils me. Probably the most valuable lesson I have… Continue
