Exploration

We went to a little one screen theater here in Vancouver this afternoon. It plays second run movies for pretty cheap prices. The three of us were able to see Twilight for what it would have cost for just one of us someplace else. Yes, we are a bit behind the times. But I don't care.

I think that old style movie house is going to become one of my favorite places about this city. Being relatively new to the area we are still exploring. I am not a mainstream new and shiny kind of person… Continue

Learning Squared

This morning, while I am working on my programming schoolwork, Jeremy is doing a project I found on the internet a while back. i think we finally just had everything on had to do it. He is making ice cream in a baggie. I found it here : http://chemistry.about.com/cs/howtos/a/aa020404a.htm

He is still shaking it...I can't wait to see how it turns out...

About 15 minutes after original post: OMG that was awesome tasting. Jeremy is already thinking of flavors that could… Continue

Unbalanced

I have been back in college for nearly a month and feel like nothing is getting my full attention. My kids are independent, but I still feel like I am slighting them somehow. They don't think so...I have asked. I am stuck in this triangle of when I have doing something I feel like I should be doing something else.

Hanging out with kids =feel like I should be working on school work or cleaning house.

School work = feel like I should be doing something with one or both kids or… Continue

Going Back to School

Me. Not the kids. I went when I was younger, before I had kids. Just a little community college. It was where I met my husband. Neither of us were there for anything specific. We were out of high school and needed to "do something". In the end, neither of us got a degree. We got married and had kids and other than a few jobs to get through, I have stayed home and was mom and wife and general administrator for the family.

Last summer I decided I wanted to go back to school, get a… Continue

Let it Snow! Let it Snow!

It was snowing yet again when I sat down in front of the computer. Let it snow. I have nowhere I have to go. Even if I did, the buses are still running even if it is a bit slower than usual.

Yesterday, the kids went sledding on the hill in the middle of the cluster of schools behind where we live. They weren't alone. It is definitely safer to do it back there than down the middle of our road which they have kept sanded so there has been no real stop in the traffic on… Continue

There is officially a teenager in the house...

My oldest son turned thirteen today. He has been awake since yesterday. He was too excited to sleep. And he logged onto the computer at 12:01 am in order to sign up for a myspace page. And spent the next several hours making it his. Then the search for friends started and he was so excited...he found his older brother on there (Same biological mother, different fathers). They moved to Idaho and we moved to Vancouver around the same time from the Seattle area and the boys lost… Continue
