When I think of Zen, I think of rainbows and butterflies...peace and tranquility and this process has had alot of those and also some really challenging times too!! I'm here to tell you the real story behind the sences of my reality :-) and it's not all rainbows and sunshine, happy smiling children and loving couples!

The picture shown was taken today, I honestly would have to go back and look at the day on my first blog entry to tell you when this barn raising (sometimes more like hell raising ;-) began...anyhoo...we finished what we started in the sense we got the basic structure up with a beautul red tin roof...which I LOVE...but it's not exactly a barn, if ya know what I mean. We had lots of issues with the "friend" who was helping us, have basically run out of $$ for more supplies and we only have a large very nice run-in or cabanna for horses and wheel barrows...LOL! No stalls, no tack room and to be honest it has been a bit disappointing and has caused alot of grief between my hubby and I. No worries we are fine and all is basically well, but often the ZEN had definately gone round the bend!

Yet...It was so wonderful bringing my horse Koady HOME today, to our own land, that we are working hard to develop. He has all the basics and lots of fresh long grass to eat and he seems happy after he ran around like a mad man for an hour! It feels so good not to have to pay board anymore, to be alone at my own place...it was bliss...then Zen was back in the picture late this afternoon while I sat in the quiet shade of, can I say it again...my own place :-) It's late and I'm going off to bed...and honestly I can't wait til morning so I can go check on Koady in his new digs.

I don't know much abut barns or horses but the picture looks like you have a nice piece of land and a beautiful horse. I'm glad you are enjoing YOUR PLACE!

Lovely place ya got there. My dad took a number of years to build on (which he loves to do but it drove my mom crazy) and our family ended up with a mini-farm on 5 little acres. We had an orchard, pasture, garden, vineyard, barn, bunch of farm animals, and a mobile home that he eventually made into a house 3x the size of the original, plus woods all around. Looks like you're well on your way, Tracy. :)

i'm glad you're feeling better about the barn and the land. i'm sure it's been stressful since bart's accident. and it's good to 'hear' a smile in your words again.

hi koady!!!

The horse doesn't have that fantasy barn picture in his head, though. Maybe you could ask around for some old canvas tarp to staple up in a few places for shade/privacy/windbreak until you get more materials next year or whenever. Freecycle might net you some tarp or even sturdier building materials. The staple holes would disappear under the more permanent outsides, eventually.

I like the photo.
