Circe and True Blood

Oh my mind is a foggy mess, my memory is constantly failing me. After all who could possibly hold this information for 20 or more years? I took Latin in High school and one of my activities was JCL, Junior Classical League. I competed at the National Level in Roman History. I've been watching True Blood for a while on hbo. In the episode entitled "Scratches", I noted again that Maryann has a pig and perhaps is a witch or sorceress.

After watching and noting she had a pig. Not to mention Merlot's reaction to her threat. I absolutely had to do a search. I recall that perhaps I'd seen similar behavior in Jason and the Argonauts, but our dvd broke and I couldn't re-watch Jason. So here is where my hunt led me:

I wonder if Maryann is Circe. Circe transformed her enemies, or those who offended her, into animals through the use of magical potions. Hm, bummer, they only showed re-runs last night. I can't wait until the next episode, I hope they don't keep me waiting too long.

It's a thing I do, find a show or question, then surf around, then tool around and move on. The show I liked before this was Rome. It goes back and back.
