Its so easy to allow stress to distract me from trusting unschooling. Thankfully these moments are becoming fewer and farther between, but deschooling myself feels like a life long process sometimes.
I quieted my worries by turning my focus back to things that bring us joy. DS13 and I have several online Scrabble games going, and I've developed a serious Facebook addiction playing Scramble and Pathwords.
Snow is still covering our lawn, but plans for growing more than grass this season are in the works. Nothing like armfuls of garden books from the library to chase away winter blues.
We made "Mancakes." Make a pancake the size of the largest pan you own and its a "mancake." Mine was a "womancake" with fresh sliced strawberries.
Nerf Darts are a great way to reduce stress. We had a blast making outlines of our bodies as the suction cup darts stuck to our sliding glass door. (Eye protection is a must.)
And we can't forget Foam Swords! We bought each family member a $1 foam sword from Target. I'm thinking we need to find some paint and white t-shirts and take our foam sword battles to the next level. How can I protect our heads though? Hmmm.....
