What about socialization? This is the most common question a homeschooler can encounter from family, friends and strangers. There is a huge misconception that socialization for a school-aged child(ren) can only take place in a classroom setting with similar aged peers. This is incorrect and often times very misleading.
Socialization is a continuing process whereby an individual acquires a personal identity and learns the norms, values, behavior, and social skills appropriate to his or her social position. In this definition there is nothing which specifically states that a child(ren) must only socialize with peers of the same age.
