Radical Unschoolers Network

the network for radical unschooling families

Since I lost my job and have some extra time we are going to make the plunge into homeschooling. Of course if the COBRA Medical insurance/Short term insurance bill gets too big for my husband to afford, I may have to go back to work. Anyway, we are so sick of the amount of homework our kids bring home we decided we might as well be teaching them. The teachers are just pawning all the work off on us anyway. I already paid for the school text books and will just use them until the end of the year. The school may hound me for them, but I'll give them back when I am done. I think that is fair use of my tax and book rental money. Anyway, I think we can get all this work done at not waste so many hours a day. We'll see.

You can do better than to "do school" with your kids. No sense using an assembly line for one child. Consider making it a fun, exciting time of natural learning instead of school at home.
