I am Gayathri, I live in Columbia, SC. I am just about to start the unschooling journey. I have a boy (5) and a girl (2). I am thrilled to find that there unschooled Indians out there. I would love to be part of this network and get to know unschoolers. Please let me know if you know of any Indians who live in my side of the town that are unschoolers.
hema, HI!! nice to meet you! i don't really have much advice. ning groups tend to run themselves pretty well. the one thing i did to cut down on spam was to make answering the profile questions mandatory to join. some bots still get through by generating answers but not nearly as much as we used to get before i made that change. i also chose to make the group public so that people could get info they needed without joining. this was debated a bit but in the end public was best for getting unschooling messages out to the world. join the ning creators group here: http://creators.ning.com/
hope that helps! good luck with your site!!!

Dear Hema,
I went through your blog a few weeks ago and tried to get in touch with you then but encountered some problem. I am glad to be able to connect with you on this forum. I am living in Auroville (Pondicherry) with Aiyana who is 3 years old and her father, Manu. We are Indian - I am from Himachal/Punjab but grew up in different places in India, and Manu is from Kerala. We are new to unschooling and I am greatly interested in making it work. Of course, most of the work is to unschool our (Manu and me) selves. I have enjoyed reading your blog posts and appreciate the way you relate your day to day experiences.
Hello, Hema! You're member #788. That's a pretty cool number.
On the righthand column (on mine anyway), down to the right, are recent blog posts (maybe only of your friends; I'm not sure). Up at the top right is a "forum" link. That's where I usually go.
At the bottom of each forum topic, bottom right, is an option to subscribe (so you get e-mail notifications). Those are good, because when a topic is busy or older, the new comments don't always go at the bottom. They go under what they're responding to. I really like it, but it's a little tricky at first.
