Hi, thanks for the add.. I looked at your blog page.. your artwork is amazing!!! You seem like a very cool mom for sure! I am Jill from Florida, nice to meet you 8)
Hello Laura,
I'm Hema, unschooling mom to 2 in Pune, India. Been a member here for a while and love it. Thanks for making this lovely place for so many of us.
When we moved to India 2 years ago, i started the Pune Homeschoolers Group (as radical unschooling is largely unknown here) with a homeschooling mom and the only local unschooler at the time. The 3 of us started the yahoo group and it has grown to almost 100 members in the past 2 years. Now i've just bought this: http://indiahomeschoolers.ning.com/ A few of us are keen to pay and keep it going until it takes off. It will be a national homeschooling platform... one where all are welcome.. newbies, fencers, unschoolers, homeschoolers and even some resource people. Our homeschooling community in India is tiny in proportion to the population here :-) So this Ning site will support us all nicely for a while to come.
All this info because i need your advice. You've been managing this site for so long... so I'm wondering if you have advice, links to good tutorials, maintenance ideas, ways to keep spam out etc. I know our audience is a large, diverse one.. but it seems to be the only way we can provide a place for all to connect. We will have about 3 moderators. Thank you for your time :-)
Best, Hema - http://thebharadwajknights.blogspot.com/
Is there any way to keep out these spam bloggers? I wanted to add RUN to Google Reader, but it means I get every spam in the feed, too.
I like RUN. I'm glad to have it. :D Thanks. -Sally
Hi Laura,
Yes, I've been on here for awhile, lurked for awhile before joining, then joined but never got around to putting up a photo. I hardly get on the computer with running around with Akira. She keeps me busy. She gets into everything, is curious about so many things, so we are always doing something. But I can only get on the computer when she is asleep, otherwise she wants to hit all the keys...
Looks like you have a wonderful life with great new friends back home. I follow your photos and show Karuna, since she misses Sadie alot. The unschooler group here is pretty noneventful, so we do our own thing. I hope one day we'll have a group of active members and kids around the same age as mine...
We are doing great and enjoying our front yard immensely. We now have a huge turtle and several large and small frogs that just showed up. The dragonflies are mating and laying eggs and we have an endless supply of birds coming and taking a bath in the bubbling waterfall, that acts like a bird bath! We're going to start working on the back yard this coming year. How are you guys doing?
