Hey Lydia:0) The conference was last week and i ended up not going, so unfortunately losing all the money paid for it. There are NO refunds. My battery in my car died the day before. a service charged it, however, the next day it was dead again! So I'm glad I didn't go, not knowing what was wrong with it. They have fixed the problem now though. Thanks for thinking of me:0) Hope all is well with you. Should we build an ARK? Just kidding. I know GOD Said HE would NEVER flood the Earth again. HE IS SO MERCIFUL:0)
Hi Lydia....do you want to meet up at a local park to share ideas and the children can play? Do you know where Thornbury park is? That is in Glen Mills close to my home but we could also meet at Rose Tree and have a picnic? You can call me @610-399-3671. Actually all unschoolers who read this can call me. I don't know of any other unschoolers as close by as you! ..........starving for unschool fellowship! :0)
Hi Lydia, Thanks for leaving a comment. We LOVE it at Lake Tahoe. I have never seen a more beautiful place! I am going to have to get some discussions going on financially free, since lots of people want it :) Talk to you soon!

Hi Lydia,
Thanks for your comment, and yes, I would love to help you!
It was an extremely educational year creating and publishing my book.
I will say, it is easier than most internet sites let on. Just believe in yourself!
smiles and joy

Thanks, Lydia, for find me here! I have been a "non active" member (and RCU) for a while. I am still somewhat uncomfortable about building relationship on cyber world. Not that I am better expressing in person than in words, it seems to just take much more time to put in written form. On the other hand, it's good that it's more thoughtful and I have time to think before I speak up.
Hey Beth, That's cool, I live right around the corner from Little People's Consignment, and I know Chris McNeil who now works at Open Connections. We wanted to attend this year, but finances are tight! My husband is considering bartering by doing some kind of music class! I know a lot of HS'ers in Media, but no Unschoolers, accept Chris and his family, but we don't really hang out or anything.
Anyway, great to hear back from you! Would love to connect if you ever want to when in Media!!
Hey Lydia! We love Ithaca, too. I'd say stop by but my family really hates it when I do that! but do get in touch if you come up this way- I am arranging some unschooling gatherings - looking for a new location right now. Take care- Heather
Hi Therese,
I love living this way too, learning in freedom, and to love more freely and grace filled, because I am so loved by God first and foremost!!
Thanks for the compliment about my blog, I got your comment, but couldn't approve it -for some reason I can't get into my wordpress blog on my husband's laptop, (mine's under repair:( ) anyway, I will one day, just didn't want you to think I was ignoring you or that I just didn't like your comment or something.....I loved it and am glad you stopped by to visit - I hope to write on it more in the near future!
Therese,
I think I have been an unschooler all along in my spirit!
We did not know about attachment parenting - the church we started our family in was very legalistic and get ready to gasp - followed the "Ezzos" style of training, only it was covert, they called it "Parenting Newborns" but really it was the "Baby Wise" teaching done by the Ezzos.
I hated it! I tried it with one kid, who naturally slept through the night and was a great sleeper - but it didn't help my milk production, I think I dried up early on like 5 months or so, and my son nursed very frustrated for the rest of the first year - none of the ladies at my church understood why this was a problem - they all stuck to the feeding schedule and it worked for them - it didn't for me - poor Colby, I really ripped him off, - needless to say, I did not continue that method, it never sat well with me anyway, but it was one of those things that if your baby wasn't on a schedule it was like you were in great sin or something!!!
Anyway, sorry to babble on about that, my two sons after that we just did what felt natural, and by my fourth son I felt like I had finally arrived at the way I wanted to nurse my baby and he slept with us or in our room for the first year. It was wonderful!
I remember struggling with the parents who wouldn't hold their newborns -instead they had to train them to be on the schedule, and get this "break their will" - I hated that, I thought this baby will never be this little again, snuggle that child every minute you can! Ugh!!
Anyway, that is why I am not so familiar with Attachment Parenting.
Now we are no longer in that church, which I consider a cult now, eek!!!
I love the lifestyle too! It's so refreshing! I think it's just another way to live out our freedom in Christ!!
Stephanie,
Oh cool where in Pa did you live? I am in the suburbs outside of Philly, in Delaware County.
I don't think I am on Pa Unschoolers -how do I find it? Is it a yahoo group?
Your welcome Therese!
