Hi Robyn!
I am Pia, mother of Oliver who will be 11 at the end of September. I wanted to say hi! because we are traveling to San Francisco in mid-October (just me and Oliver) and I am looking for some reasonable places to stay and maybe to meet up with someone like-minded if there is time. Maybe you have some ideas??? Bed and breakfast, friends with huge houses and a guest room ;-) hostels, motels - I am open to most as long as it´s safe and clean? I am not sure for how long...thinking of staying maybe 3-4-5 days.
I have checked a lot of websites, but it´s always better with someone´s recommendation. :-)
A bit about me: radically unschooling for all of Oliver´s 11 years, graphic designer (trained as architect), embroiderer, espresso-loving, book-loving, atheist, vegan, science and documentary nut... wife to Jonathan (12 years) who runs a tennis academy. We live in Barcelona Spain and love to travel. And that is the reason for taking Oliver to the States this year. I used to live in NYC when I was 16, but haven´t been back since.
Would be great to hear from you - maybe we could meet in SF!
Pia :-)
Ps. I posted the same message on Rebecca´s page since she´s also in SF. ;-)

Hi Robyn,
Did I meet you at Life is Good in May?
If so, it is good to see you, if not, hello!

So far we only have plans to be in San Francisco for one night. (Hotels are expensive there!) We're coming as far as Sacramento on Tues., 9/30. We'll head to SF on Wed., 10/1 in the morning and be there all day. The concert is that night. Then we head for LA sometime on Thurs., 10/2.
Will any of that work for you? We'd love to see you.
It was so great to meet you at the HSC conference. We live so close to you! I hope we get a chance to do that session again next year- we will have it down!
I wanted to let you know you are doing a great job of growing a group of unschoolers in Colorado! I've had Life is Good attendee contact me and now someone from the HSC conference. Thanks. There are a few of us here in CO. Hope to catch you soon at some conference or other! Or maybe San Francisco, I'd love to go play there! ~Jill
Could I get you to email me (personally) your address? I ran out of yarn for the water bottle holder. Now that I'm home I can finish it up...of course I'm here typing rather than finishing! We had a great time with you all. What a great experience. Thanks for helping make it so.
We play under Venture Co. I have a level 26 Tauren Hunter, Alex has a level 25 Tauren Hunter, And Greg has a level 23 Tauren Hunter. Alex wanted us to do it all together :) But these are our fav's. After LIG we did make some nightelf's under Bronzebeard but we have not played under them much, I think they are in the level 6 range. When we do things we do them for months and then stop. So we have not been playing WoW for awhile, until last week, and Greg figured out that you can make tons of money from the auctions. Yeah we are still noobs. But we love that we keep discovering more and more. See you soon.
There are 5 of us driving down as far as SF. Jon, me, Conor, Qacei and my sil Donna. Jon will fly back to Oregon after the concert. The remaining 4 of us are heading down to Anaheim for ...yup...another concert.
James! And yes I know you probably don't know who that is. ;-) You can check out my blog for more details than any person besides me could possible want. lol

Do you have any suggestions for a cheaper-ish hotel? The concert is at The Grand Ballroom at The Regency Center, San Francisco .
LOL! That is so funny! I haven't played in a couple weeks, but my acct restarts on Aug 3rd, so I'll be looking for you both. What is your main character's name on Venture Co? Mine is Leertuna.
Do you and your husband play WoW by any chance, on the Venture Co--Guild of Unschoolers?? I chatted with Deepsneakers who was from San Fran, I believe, and said his wife's name was Robyn. If that's not you, oh well! :)
